To all faculty and students of the university:
To implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, actively serve the national strategy of educational opening-up to the outside world, satisfy the demand for high-level opening-up in jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative, further elevate the level of the university’s internationalization, the School of International Education launched the “High-level Forum on Internationalization of North University of China” series in September 2025. A total of 11 renowned international scholars has been invited to deliver 5 sessions, which have gradually attracted the attention of the faculty, Chinese students and international students in China at our university. We are now honored to invite Professor Intan Zaurah Mat Darus, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, to deliver the 12th lecture of the 6th phase of the forum on February 1, 2026 (see the poster for details). The relevant issues are as follows:

4. Guest Introduction:
Professor Intan is an expert in the field of mechanical engineering and currently serves as Vice Chancellor (in charge of Academic and International Affairs) of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. She graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff, with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and obtained her PhD in Automatic Control and Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield, UK. With more than 25 years of experience in teaching and research, she has made important contributions to the fields of instrumentation, measurement and control, dynamic system modeling, thermal energy systems, automotive systems, robotics and automation, as well as artificial intelligence. She has held positions such as Postgraduate Academic Manager, Head of Department, Deputy Dean, Director of the Center for Academic and Experiential Learning, and Chair of the Undergraduate Teaching College. As Vice Chancellor, she is committed to promoting UTM’s global academic excellence, research innovation and talent cultivation, ensuring that students possess future competitiveness, and enhancing the university's influence in international education and research.
In 2026, the School of International Education will continue to launch a variety of activities themed on international education and exchange cooperation, including the High-level Forum on Internationalization series, International Student Salons, and the Global Vision Enhancement Program for on-campus faculty and students.
